Minutes of the March 10th Meeting of the 45th Reunion Committee

A very productive group of committee members lined up a few more details for the 45th Reunion of Hartford Union High School's "Class of '62."

The 45th Reunion of
the "Class of '62......"
1- will take place on Saturday, October 6, 2007, (HUHS's Homecoming Weekend),
2- and will be held at The Iron Ridge Inn Restaurant in Iron Ridge, Wisconsin (scroll down to earlier posts on this blog site to see restaurant & motel information, including the web site for both facilities),
3- will have a gathering/social time of 5:00 PM and a dining time of 6:30 PM,
4- hopes to have Mr. Schlieve moderate the event,
5- hopes to have Mr. Rudersdorf entertain us with his background music of "Oldies" tunes
plus have him host the "giveaway" entertainment,
6- and hopes to have Ms. Raschka entertain us with a power point show of classmate-
contributed photos,
Other topics discussed included......
7- Mr. Dillon & Mr. Rudersdorf's plan to review classmates' addresses, phone numbers & email addresses to update our database,
8- Mr. Dillon & Mr. Rudersdorf's plan to contact each classmate by phone to give them a "heads up" about the reunion and to obtain more email addresses,
9- The two entree items selected for the meal are "Beef Tenderloin Tips in Gravy" and "Chicken Cordon Bleu" (which we think was what we selected back in 2002) which is served "family style" after attendees go through a salad buffet line,
10- "vegetable" is the same green beans in a white sauce we had in 2002 (with an inquiry to the restaurant about the cost of a second vegetable (corn),
11- "starch" is the same mashed potatoes we had in 2002 (with an inquiry to the restaurant about the cost of a second starch (rice or baked potatoes),
12- a bigger name tag was proposed to allow for the addition of a couple of extra details about the classmate's and spouse's current life and new interests,
13- a "Friday schedule" will be added to the invitation to include the following optional events:
12 noon lunch at Hammerin' Hanks, 1:00 PM viewing of the homecoming parade at Hanks, 5:00 PM "friday-night-fish-fry" at the Hartford Golf Club, pre-game gathering at the HUHS "Alumni Tent," and attendance at the 7:00 PM football game (with the RSVP for the fish fry going to Ms. Raschka)
14- Saturday Pre-Reunion events, if any, have yet to be determined,
15- table decorations are still under discussion and may include old photos on display holders and/or seasonal hardy mums
16- invitations (with a questionnaire) will be mailed on July 15th with a response deadline of August 15th; mailing to include a SASE,
17- after the August 15th deadline, follow-up calls or postcards will be made/sent to the potential one-third of the classmates who do not respond (to at least obtain a little information for the remembrance booklet),
18- HUHS's Alumni coordinator will be contacted about adding our 45th reunion information to the high school's web site in the "Alumni Section,"
19- Cost per person was discussed at length with a final conclusion that $26. per person would be the "best fit" with possible excess funds being used for "a little" seed money for the 50th Reunion and some little stacks of money tied in a bow as additional "giveaway" items,
20- rather than attempt to provide "giveaway" items for every attendee, a number of nicer (?) gifts or combinations of gifts would be lined up by donation and purchase,
21- "giveaway" donations to date include: a-multiple Wisconsin Dells coupons/gifts, b-a bottle of wine from France, c-a bottle of whiskey from Ireland, d-a Silver Dollar valued at $13+, e- a piece of "Harley Davidson" gear, f-a copy of the documentary movie, "Fastwalkers," which has in it a brief interview with classmate, Marie Therese Reis' husband, Charles.
22- NEXT REUNION COMMITTEE MEETING IS SCHEDULED FOR MAY 5, 2007, HIGH NOON, AT "THE MOVIE GRILL" RESTAURANT, JACKSON.

Please email your comments, suggestions, new ideas, concerns to help us develop a "fun-time-for-all" at the 45th Reunion of HUHS's "Class of '62."
