Old Farmer's Advice

Our classmate, Marie Therese (Reis) Hall, sends this "Old Farmer's Advice."

(Also see Marie Therese and her husband, Charles' website at www.millennialhospitality.com for more interesting information.)

>>> Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight and bull-strong.

>>> Keep skunks and bankers at a distance.

>>> Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.

>>> A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.

>>> "Meanness" don't just happen overnight.

>>> Forgive your enemies; it messes up their heads.

>>> Every path has a few puddles.

>>> Most of the stuff people worry about ain't never gonna happen anyway.

>>> If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.

>>> Sometimes you get, and sometimes you get got.

>>> The biggest troublemaker you'll probably ever have to deal with, watches you from the mirror every morning.

>>> Always drink upstream from the herd.

>>> Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

Thank You For Your Contributions

The Hartford Community Chorus, under the direction of our Class of '62 Advisor and Vocal Music Instructor, RUTH KNOLL, performed their Spring Concert this weekend (May 1 & 2, 2010).
They performed Saturday evening at Holy Hill and also Sunday afternoon at the Schauer Center. Sunday's performance included presenting Miss Knoll with a B.E.S.T. Scholarship to be offered in her name in the future.
Thank you to those of you who were able to contribute to this scholarship fund. There is still time to add more to the fund with your donation to the "Ruth Knoll B.E.S.T. Scholarship Fund," in care of First National Bank of Hartford, P.O. Box 270106, Hartford, WI 53027.
Sunday's concert was followed by a banquet honoring Miss Knoll's 50 years of service as the first and only director of the Hartford Community Chorus.
Miss Knoll is going strong and looking forward to the 2010 Christmas Concert that will be a combination performance with Kettle Moraine Symphony of Handel's Messiah.
We are also confident that she has already "penciled in" the 50th Reunion of the "Class of '62."
Have you "penciled us in" too in 2012???

To: Class of '62
From: Gary Schlieve (gschlieve@gmail.com)
Subject: Treasurer's Report
We have $15.20 in our account as of year's end, 2009. Should we save it for our next reunion or contribute to Harry Reid's "Race Relations Group?" (We need it more!)
Have a great 2010. Be grateful for the health you do have and enjoy it. Kathy and I hope to be in Florida twice and California once this spring. Took the grandkids to Atlantis in November. Kathy has wanted to take our Taylor (only grandaughter) to swim with dolphins for two years. Finally "got 'er dun!"
God's best to you all.

Here's Hoping You Have A......

And here's hoping it is a very healthy one too.

(Please mark your "50th Reunion Calendar" to note that we are only two years away for our next gathering in 2012.)
